Your Kids Belong To Us
Glenn Beck: If You Have Ears To Hear And Eyes To See, LOOK Into Transformational Education
As more information comes to light about the controversial public school curriculum systems,CSCOPE and Common Core Standards, parents are concerned that their children are growing increasingly susceptible to the influence of bureaucrats seeking to push a political agenda.
As government seeks to expand its reach and some would argue control over America’s youth, some believe that the only way to ensure freedom and autonomy is to step-up conservative ideals of personal responsibility.
On Monday, Glenn Beck dedicated his evening broadcast to discussing these very ideals and how best to identify freedoms that Americans have lost, or are at risk of losing. The segment was catalyzed by a recent statement made by MSNBC host Melissa Harris Perry in which she said, “your kids belong to all of us.”
“They knew full well what they were airing,” Beck said of NBC. “They are airing an announcement that your kids do not belong to you.”
Beck encouraged viewers to learn more about “transformational education,” which he called the “lifeblood” of Common Core. “If you have ears to hear and eyes to see, look into transformational education,” he added.
To help delve into the matter in greater detail, were special guests Jeff Frazee, President of Young Americans for Liberty, writer James Antle, Alex Smith of the College Republican National Committee, and Jonathan Bydlak of the Coalition to Reduce Spending.

Something Rotten In Education
Governor Quinn Signs Common Core
Remember that Common Core was not signed in as a federal program per se. It is a condition of accepting the Race to the Top funding from the Obama Stimulus funds. Also, as an additional benefit Illinois received a waiver which got them out of meeting the old No Child Left Behind achievement goals. Governor Quinn signed this in July 13, 2010, hidden in the race to the top.
This is to education what Obamacare is to health care.

Myths VS Facts
. Common Core (CC) was a state-led initiative.
Fact . The CC standards were initiated by private interests in Washington, DC, without any representation from the states. Eventually the creators realized the need to present a façade of state involvement and therefore enlisted the National Governors Association (NGA) (a trade association that doesn’t include all governors) and the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO), another DC-based trade association. Neither of these groups had a grant of authority from any particular state or states to write the standards. The bulk of the creative work was done by Achieve, Inc., a DC-based nonprofit that includes many progressive education reformers who have been advocating national standards and curriculum for decades. Massive funding for all this came from private interests such as the Gates Foundation.
Myth. The federal government is not involved in the Common Core scheme.
Fact . The US Department of Education (USED) was deeply involved in the meetings that led to creation of Common Core. Moreover, it has poured hundreds of millions of dollars into the two consortia that are creating the national tests that will align with CC. USED is acting as the enforcer to herd states into the scheme (see next myth).

Hog Wash Alert On 'The National Review Online'
[4.4.13 – I have never read a more thorough and well-documented discrediting of Common Core Standards than what Christel has presented below. This article is a keeper because she has undoubtedly spent hours gathering and inputting the links to her sources so that all who read this article can verify its accuracy. Our sincere thanks goes out to Christel for providing this elucidating rebuttal to the National Review’s “hogwash.” – Donna Garner
Hog Wash Alert on The National Review (Common Core)
By Christel Swasey
I’m calling for a hogwash alert on today’s National Review article about Common Core.
The ironically titled The Truth About Common Core article cannot be taken seriously. It’s written without any links or references for its Common Core-promoting claims, and it’s written by two authors whose employers are largely funded by the main funder of all things Common Core. Parents: A Warning Concerning Common Core By Glenn Beck
Common Core is meeting oposition with some states have some refused it. Texas Governor Rick Perry refused Common Core only to have another program take its place. That program was reintroduced in Texas as CSCOPE program. Please watch the vidoe with David Barton & Glenn Beck for indepth explanations of this program.
Pass along this page to others and by all means attend your school board meetings, talk to your state legislators before it's too late. Their next goal is home schoolers and private schools, so no one is immune to the federal take over of education.
